COLLEGE PARK, Md. - James Madison women's tennis closed out the weekend with a convincing 7-0 victory over Georgetown on Sunday afternoon in a neutral-site matchup at the Junior Tennis Champion Center in College Park.
JMU turned in a dominate performance, sweeping all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. Sunday's win over Georgetown improved the Dukes' record to 4-2, while Georgetown fell to 1-5.
The sophomore pair of Daniela Voloh and Natalia Nikolopoulou and senior/sophomore tandem of Jona Roka and Daria Afanasyeva each beat their doubles opponents by a score of 6-1. Sophomores Amanda Nord and Kylie Moulin defeated Elena De Santis and Agata Mikos 6-3 to round out doubles play.
In singles, JMU won four of six singles matches in straight sets and the final two in super-tiebreak fashion to complete the 7-0 victory.
Nord rolled past Chloe Bendetti 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6 singles to make it 2-0. Nikolopoulou downed Anna Short 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles, and Moulin cruised by De Santis by a score of 6-3, 6-2 to make it a 4-0 lead and clinch the match.
Voloh also won in straight sets, with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph over Olivia Ashton at No. 3 singles. Closing out the match, Afanasyeva held off Mikos in a third-set, super tiebreaker, winning at No. 2 singles by a scores of 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (11), and Roka battled past Sofie Moenster with a 7-6 (5), 3-6, 1-0 (8) win at No. 1 singles.

UP NEXT
The Dukes return home for their match on Saturday, Feb. 15 against UNCG at the East Campus Tennis Courts. The match is slated for 10 a.m. start.
