KANEOHE, Hawaii - Sophomore
Kate Owens took home the James Madison women's golf team's highest finish on Wednesday as the Dukes wrapped up play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted at the par-72, 6,056-yard Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Owens finished her week in a tie for 33rd among 92 players, finishing at 225 (+9, 75-74-76) on a difficult setup with strong winds. Freshman
Kendall Turner was just a stroke behind her teammate, tying for 36th at 226 (+10, 74-78-74).
As a team, the Dukes posted a final-day 301 to finish 13th on the week, just one stroke behind 12th-place UTEP at the 16-team event.
Senior
Lauren Comegys finished 58th for the week at 232 (78-77-77), while sophomore
Carly Lyvers (235) and freshman
Ana Tsiros (244) closed out the JMU lineup in 65th and 84th, respectively.
