Peyton McDaniel Named CAA Rookie of the Week

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Freshman Peyton McDaniel of James Madison women's basketball has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week as announced on Monday.

McDaniel receives this award for the third time this season after posting stellar performances against Elon over the weekend. The freshman averaged the second most points per game (11.5) on 42 percent (8-of-19) shooting from the field and an efficient 41.7 percent clip (5-of-12) from long range. Additionally, the freshman led the team in rebounds per game with 6.5.

Her better outing came in the 75-63 win on Saturday as she poured in 12 points, knocking down two treys to go along with seven rebounds, four of which coming on the offensive end.
