HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison field hockey team got off to a strong start in their win against Hofstra 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at the JMU Field Hockey Complex.

The Dukes improved to 6-4 this season and 2-0 in Colonial Athletics Association play and the Pride dropped to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in CAA play.

Diede Remijnse had a game high two goals to lead the Dukes to victory. The scoring was started by
Aubrey Scott King and was wrapped up by
Mikenna Allen. Emily Harrison earned her third goal of the season to help JMU maintain their lead.

The JMU defense was strong and only allowed two shots, and in the cage
Florein Marcussen collected another save. JMU out shot Hofstra 23-2 and garnered 12 penalty corners while Hofstra only had two.
