SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - The James Madison men's golf team closed out its second complete tournament of the season on Monday afternoon, taking home 10th at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate, hosted by Northern Illinois at par-72, 7,200-yard Rich Harvest Farms.

Senior
Neal Shipley led the Dukes on the weekend, using a final-round 67 (-5) to vault up the leaderboard and into a tie for 14th among 80 players at 213 (-3 | 73-73-67) on the weekend. Shipley's final round marks his best round at JMU since carding a 67 (-5) in the second round of the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate on Feb. 15, 2020 - his freshman season.

As a team, the Dukes finished just one stroke behind Minnesota and Miami (OH) at 863 (-1 | 286-290-287), taking home 10th place on a tight, 12-team leaderboard.

George Heath finished in a tie for 37th at 218 (+2 | 74-71-73), while senior
Ignacio Montero was just a stroke behind in a tie for 44th (69-78-72).

Nick Schlickenrieder was one more stroke behind Montero, tying for 49th at 220 (+4 | 76-69-75), while sophomore
Alexandre D'Aurelles de Paladines tied for 63rd in his first action of the fall, carding 70-77-77 on the weekend.

Playing as an individual, sophomore
Sigurður Blumenstein opened his collegiate career in strong fashion, posting rounds of 70-71-78 on his way to a tie for 44th at 219 (+3).

The Dukes will be back in action in two weeks, travelling to Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, N.C. to take part in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate on Oct. 16-17.
