HARRISONBURG, Va. — The James Madison women's basketball team won their second-straight game with a 77-54 win over North Carolina Central Wednesday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes head into the Thanksgiving holiday at 3-2 on the year while NCCU falls to 0-5.

Kiki Jefferson led all scorers with 23 points while adding seven rebounds, two steals and an assist to her stat line.

Diamond Thomas led the Eagles with 18 points and tied for a game-high three steals.
How It Happened
- The Dukes opened the game on a 10-0 run on 4-of-4 from the floor, capped off by
Jaylin Carodine who grabbed a defensive board and went coast-to-coast for an uncontested layup.
-The Eagles got themselves into early foul trouble, committing 13 fouls in the first half and allowing the Dukes to go 12-for-14 from the line.
-NC Central outscored JMU 23-20 in the third quarter as they tried to claw their way back, but the Dukes held the Eagles to just six points in the final frame to walk away with their second-straight victory.
Statistically Speaking
- Carodine pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds, 10 of which came in the first half. She finished just shy of a double-double with eight points.

Madison Green collected a season-high 10 points. Goodman also tied her career-best four blocks for the second-straight game, while Green tied her career-best of three steals.

- Hazell led JMU in scoring with seven points in the first frame while Carodine pulled down six boards.
Second Quarter: JMU 43, NCCU 25
- Green led JMU in the second quarter with five points on 2-of-4 shooting, one coming from beyond the arc.
- The Dukes ended the half on a 6-0 run to lead NCCU by 18 at the break.
Third Quarter: JMU 63, NCCU 48
- The Eagles staged a comeback in the third quarter as they outscored the Dukes 23-20 and shot 64.3% (9-14) from the floor.
- NC Central went on a 12-0 run starting at the 4:53 mark until Jefferson ended the streak at 1:52 with a pair of foul shots.
- Despite shooting 58.3% (7-12), JMU committed six turnovers as the Eagles picked up four steals and scored nine points off the Dukes' mistakes.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 77, NCCU 54
- Jefferson recorded eight points in the final 10 minutes as she shot 75% (3-4) from the floor.
- JMU held NC Central to a field goal percentage 18.8 (3-16) to halt any chance of a comeback.
