Loren LaPorte released the 2021 softball schedule on Monday, which includes 34 games with 20 taking place at Veterans Memorial Park.

The Dukes will open the 2021 season against Virginia at the UVA Tournament on Feb. 27, followed by a late afternoon game against George Washington that same day. The team will then travel to Lynchburg, Va. for Liberty Tournament to take on Longwood and the tournament host (March 6).

JMU returns home to open its home portion of the schedule by hosting Stony Brook and Rhode Island at the JMU Tournament (March 12-14). The tournament will have a doubleheader every day with the Dukes facing Stony Brook on March 12 and Rhode Island on March 14. Following its home event, JMU hosts a three-game series against ECU (March 19-21).

The Dukes begin conference play on March 27 and 28 when they travel to Elon for a three-game series.

The squad returns to Harrisonburg to play host to George Washington (March 31) in a mid-week game before welcoming College of Charleston (April 3-4) that weekend. JMU also hosts Radford (April 7) for a single game to complete the five-game home stretch.

The Dukes hit the road for a series at UNCW (April 10-11) before returning to VMP to take on Elon (April 17-18). JMU stays in state the following week, trekking to Farmville, Va., to battle Longwood (April 21).

JMU is back home to host UNCW (April 24-25) for a weekend series before heading to the College of Charleston (May 1-2) to wrap up conference play. The regular season concludes the following week at home when the Dukes face off with Charlotte (May 5).

The Dukes will host the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Championship on March 12-15. The tournament will have five teams and be double elimination.
