PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Despite showing a lot of dominance in the first half, a cold second half handed James Madison a 51-48 loss to Drexel in Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball action inside of the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday.
The Dukes (12-9, 8-6 CAA) held the Dragons (11-7, 8-5 CAA) to only 16 first-half points, marking the lowest by an opponent this season but Drexel flipped the switch in the second half to pull off the come-from-behind victory.

Anne Diouf led the way by nearly posting a double-double in nine points and a career- and game-high 16 rebounds. Sophomore
Kiki Jefferson chipped in eight points with a career-high tying 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Drexel was led by Hannah Nihill who dropped a game-best 20 points on 5-of-9 (55.6 percent) shooting from deep with six assists, three rebounds and five steals.
How It Happened
JMU controlled all of the momentum from opening tip in the quarter as the Dukes went on a 9-0 run to start the game, forcing Drexel to call an early timeout. JMU ended the quarter with an 18-6 advantage, marking the fewest opponent points in the first this season.
The second quarter was more of a back-and-forth affair as neither team could gain full momentum but the Dukes went into the break holding a solid 31-16 lead. The second half was completely different than the first as the Dragons used a 24-5 run between the third and fourth quarters that gave them their first lead of the game at 41-39 (9:10, 4th).
JMU kept close with Drexel as it eventually regained the lead at 48-47 with 3:13 left but the Dragons held the Dukes scoreless for the rest of the game while Keishana Washington made back-to-back layups to hand the Dukes the tough loss.
