WINNABOW, N.C. – James Madison cross country earned a third-place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship hosted by UNCW at the Old Fort Golf Course on Friday morning.
The Dukes racked up 90 points which was four points behind second place Northeastern. Elon took home the championship as it scored only 35 points. JMU averaged a time of 20:48 in the 6k race.
Leading the Dukes was freshman
Miranda Stanhope in her first collegiate 6k race as she finished second overall in a time of 19:49.70. Stanhope was the sole Duke to earn All-CAA honors.
Following behind Stanhope was senior
Brooke Manion who crossed the finish line in 19th place in 20:46.90. Rounding out the scoring for the Dukes were senior
Caitlin Swanson (20:59.40), sophomore
Maddy Hesler (21:10.60) and senior
Kayla Connelly (21:13.50) who finished 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, respectively.
