INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – James Madison ranked #1 in the 2020-21 NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee's top-10 ranking, as announced Thursday night on ESPNU.
The Dukes are 4-0 this spring, with a 2-0 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play, earning the top spot in the committee's only top-10 ranking to be released during the regular season.
Reigning champion North Dakota State (5-1) is second, followed by South Dakota State (4-1) at third, Sam Houston (3-0) at fourth and both North Dakota (4-1) and Weber State (3-0) tied for fifth.
The remainder of the top-10 includes fellow CAA team Delaware (3-0) at seventh, VMI (5-0) at eighth, UC Davis (3-1) at ninth and Murray State (5-0) at 10th.
The selection committee will unveil the final bracket for the 2020-21 FCS playoffs on Sunday, April 18 at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU.
