HARRISONBURG, Va. – Former James Madison cornerback Elijah Culp has signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.
Culp confirmed the news to JMU following the conclusion of the NFL Draft.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Culp capped off his collegiate career with the Dukes in 2025, helping lead one of the nation's top defenses to the College Football Playoff.
In 13 starts at corner, Culp was a Third Team All-Sun Belt defensive back who accrued 46 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and eight pass breakups. His lone interception for JMU occurred in the CFP First Round at Oregon.
Prior to JMU he also had stops at Charlotte (2023-24), Troy (2021-22) and Austin Peay (2020). Over the course of his career, Culp played in 53 games with 35 starts in the secondary. He accumulated 128 total tackles with 6.5 TFL, five interceptions and 16 pass breakups.
