COLLEGE PARK, Md. – James Madison wrapped up play at the Bedford Cup Sunday at the Junior Tennis Champions Center.
Freshman Alexandra Prudente closed the weekend with a convincing victory, taking down Maryland's Vera Markovic, 6-2, 6-1.
Senior Shannon McCarthy dropped her final singles match in a super tiebreaker, falling to Towson's Sissi Axelsson by scores of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (9).
In doubles, the duo fell in the third-place match of Flight B by a score of 6-4 to Howard's Yemisi Ifedderu and Kendall Addison.
UP NEXT
JMU is back in action next weekend in Lynchburg, Va., for the ITA Atlantic Regionals, which will be hosted by Liberty from Friday, Oct. 1 through Monday, Oct. 4.
