LYNCHBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship on Sunday at the Liberty Tennis Complex with the doubles tandem of juniors
Kylie Moulin and
Daria Afanasyeva advancing the ITA Super Regionals.
The JMU duo dispatched Virginia Tech's Katie Andreini and Annie Clark by a score of 6-1 to move on to Supers, which will take place Oct. 22-25 in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia.
In their three wins this weekend, Moulin and Afanasyeva conceded just five total games in doubles play to advance.
In singles action, Moulin's bid for an individual berth in Super Regionals fell just short in a tightly-contested bout to Kendall Kovick of West Virginia, as she fell 6-4, 7-5.
Afanasyeva will also compete as a singles competitor at the ITA Super Regionals after automatically qualifying for the event.
