Two More Future Dukes join 2022-2023 Softball Roster

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The James Madison softball program has brought on two more future Dukes, Head Coach Loren LaPorte announced Friday afternoon.

Katelyn Carrier and Carsen Sanders will be enrolling in the fall of 2022 and will begin playing for the Dukes in the spring of 2023.

Name: Katelyn Carrier
Height: 5-4
Position: OF
Hometown/ High School: Lambertville, N.J. // South Hunterdon Regional
Career Highlights: Member of high school varsity team every year… Named Team Offensive MVP freshman and junior years… Skyland Conference Champions 2019 and 2021… First Team All-Skyland Conference in 2019 and 2021… 2019 Central Jersey Group 1 Champions… Member of National Honor Society and the Honor Roll.
Coach LaPorte's Thoughts: "Katelyn is a speedy outfielder who is very dynamic at the plate."

Hometown/ High School: Mechanicsville, Va. // Atlee
Career Highlights: Varsity starter every season of softball… Member of the VHSL First Team All-State and Richmond Times Dispatch Second Team All-Metro in 2019… Member of VHSL All-Region team in 2021… 2021 Super Regional Top Nine finish in the Alliance Fastpitch Championship… In the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Deca Club, and Honor Roll.
