LYNCHBURG, Va. – James Madison men's tennis completed their first weekend of play of the spring season with the second day of the Liberty Spring Hidden Dual at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.

The Dukes faced strong competition between host Liberty and Youngstown State.

The day was highlighted by a doubles win from sophomore Mario Pena and senior Stefan Petrovic, who defeated YSU's Javi Pla and Asier Pena, 6-3.

The team of junior Holden Koons and Mathieu Josserand fell 7-5 to YSU's Harry Fouzas and Erik Gran in a tight one at 7-5. The tandem of redshirt freshman Youssef Sadek and sophomore Oscar Hernandez also played a tough match with Liberty's Nicaise Muamba and Rafael Marques Da Silva, dropping a 7-5 decision.

The Dukes also faced off with Liberty in singles, with the Flames taking each match. Koons fell in three sets, as Muamba took a 7-6 (5), 6-7 (1), 6-2 decision to close out the weekend.

UP NEXT
The Dukes open their home slate on Friday, Jan. 21 when they host Bucknell. First serve is set for 5 p.m. at the East Campus Tennis Courts.
