Game Notes
Quoting Head Coach Joshua Walters, Sr.
"Frustrating night when you feel like you create enough to get the win, but it doesn't come off. We did some positive things tonight, but we need to be hungrier in front of goal to earn results."

How It Happened
- The match opened up slow, with only one shot coming from either team in the opening 10 minutes.
- The Dukes got on the board in the 22nd minute, when redshirt junior Ellie Johnson fired in a shot that Alexis Wolgemuth saved. The shot deflected off of the keeper's gloves straight to redshirt sophomore London Lewis who tapped the ball across the keeper and into the back of the net for the first goal of her career.
- The Thundering Herd had a pair of chances to equalize in the 30th and 40th minutes, but Blom denied both shots to maintain the 1-0 lead into halftime.
- To start the second half, JMU fired off three straight shots that included a shot from Suwaitbatu Mohammed that would've found the goal if it wasn't for a diving Wolgemuth denying her.
- Marshall equalized in the 56th minute, when a pass in the box evaded JMU defenders and found its way past the goal line off the foot of Kat Gonzalez. The goal ended a streak of 632:22 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal in the run of play.
- Both teams struggled to muster any shots over the remaining 30-plus minutes of action, with the Dukes taking two.
Game Notes
- The Dukes are now 6-0-1 when leading at half, the first match not resulting in a win when up after the first 45 minutes.
- JMU continues to not yield a goal in the first half this season.
