Jefferson Tabbed Sun Belt Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS -- With a strong 2-1 start to the season, James Madison senior guard Kiki Jefferson was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Jefferson is averaging 21.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in just 24 minutes per outing. The guard has been shooting hot, making 23-of-39 (59.0%) shots from the field, 15-of-19 (78.9%) from the line, and 4-of-8 (50.0%) from deep. In the team's first game of the season versus Maine (Nov. 7), the senior notched a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, the 12th double-double of her career. Jefferson has also scored at least 20 points in six straight outings, extending her streak from last season. Moreover, the streak is the longest of her career.
On the defensive end, the Lancaster, Pa. native has either led or tied for the team lead in rebounds in each contest thus far. In addition to her 25 boards, Jefferson has tallied six steals and one block.
The Dukes will hit the road once again with a contest at Longwood on Thursday, Nov. 17. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
