QUICK HITS
- James Madison men's basketball heads down to Savannah for three games in three days over Thanksgiving weekend.
- The Dukes will begin the stretch against Coastal Georgia on Friday before taking on South Dakota State on Saturday and Valparaiso on Saturday. Both Saturday's and Sunday's games will be part of the Hostilo Community Classic.
- The Dukes will wrap up a six-game stretch away from home over the weekend. JMU is 2-1 in that stretch thus far, only falling to current AP No. 1 North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During the road trip, which will be JMU's longest of the season, the Dukes are outscoring opponents 256-211.
- JMU fell 80-64 to last season's national runner-ups on Sunday. After trailing by 19 at halftime, the Dukes quickly pulled to within single digits in the second half and got as close as eight, but UNC pulled away late to seal the victory.
- The Dukes were led by graduate student Takal Molson, who scored 19 points on a 7-of-16 day from the field, adding six rebounds and three steals against the Tar Heels. Molson has scored at least 12 points in four of JMU's first five games.
- Mount St. Mary's transfer Mezie Offurum nabbed season and JMU highs with 12 points and eight rebounds on Sunday. He has scored in double figures while also grabbing at least six rebounds in each of JMU's last four tilts.
- At least four Dukes have scored in double figures in each of their first five games.
- JMU scored at least 95 points in the season's opening four games, marking the first such stretch in program history. The Dukes still average 97.0 points per game through five contests, ranking fourth in the nation in scoring offense.
- JMU also ranks inside the top 20 in Division I in turnovers forced per game (20.4) and rebounding margin (11.4).
- Three players all sit with field goal percentages above .700 on at least 20 attempts - Offurum (.810), Justin Amadi (.714) and Terrance Edwards (.710). Amadi currently has the highest career shooting percentage in program history at 66.6%.
- Redshirt senior Vado Morse boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.0, with 16 dishes to just four giveaways.
