THE DUKES

James Madison is coming off a 60-58 loss at the hands of Maine on Monday, Nov. 7. Junior center Kseniia Kozlova made two clutch free throws to tie the game at 58 apiece with 13 seconds remaining. However, the Black Bears scored on a tough layup with 1.4 seconds left to take home the win.
Senior Kiki Jefferson recorded the 12th double-double of her career, posting 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The guard scored 14 of her 23 points in the final quarter on 5-of-7 (71.4%) shooting, including one three-pointer and sinking 3-of-3 from the line.
Kozlova registered a career-high 10 points and pulled down five boards. Graduate student Caroline Germond was an efficient 4-of-7 (57.1%) from the field for eight points and dished out a pair of assists.
JMU held the advantage in field goal percentage (43.5% to 40.3%), free throw percentage. (73.3% to 66.7%), rebounds (35 to 30), and points in the paint (30 to 28).
Junior Peyton McDaniel knocked down a three-pointer in the first quarter, her first field goal since March 12, 2021, versus Drexel.
The Dukes are now 4-3 in home openers with Head Coach Sean O'Regan at the helm.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

Millersville wrapped up its 2021-22 campaign with a 7-20 overall record with a 6-16 mark in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.
The Marauders return their second-highest scorer in sophomore forward Makiah Shaw who averaged 7.1 points and finished second on the team in blocks with 24.
The team averaged 53.5 points per outing while surrendering 63.0 to the opposition. Additionally, MU concluded the year with 10.0 steals per contest, good for 44th in Division II. Moreover, Millersville was the 31st in the nation in turnovers forced, with opponents giving up the ball 20.59 times per game.

SERIES HISTORY

Wednesday's game will be the first meeting between James Madison and Millersville.
The contest will be Coach O'Regan's first regular-season game against a non-DI opponent and the program's first since defeating Savannah State 85-46 on Nov. 30, 2007.
