James Madison men's basketball returns to the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Friday at 7 p.m. to battle Eastern Kentucky.
The Dukes will begin a four-game stretch back in the Commonwealth, with three games at home and a road matchup at Virginia.
JMU had a successful six-game road swing to close out November, going 4-2 while scoring 95 points in three of the six games. The Dukes fell in the final game of the trip in a 81-79 overtime defeat to Valparaiso on Sunday, wrapping up its time at the Hostilo Community Classic. Tied at 79 in overtime, Valparaiso scored on a driving layup with just one second to play.
JMU was led in that game by Terrance Edwards, who turned in 21 points, six rebounds and made a career-high nine free throws (9-of-10). He made nine free throws after making seven in his first seven games combined. Edwards has scored at least 19 points on three occasions this year and also grabbed six or more rebounds three times.

Graduate student Takal Molson sits as JMU's leading scorer, averaging 14.4 points a game and reaching double figures in six of seven apparances. Like Edwards, he also made nine free throws on Sunday, marking a JMU high for Molson.
JMU's offensive attack ranks fifth in the country as the Dukes averaged 92.9 points per game in November. The Dukes also rank eight in team field goal percentage at 51.8%, The Dukes are led by Justin Amadi, who is tied for 14th in the nation at a .700 clip this year and currently tops the all-time JMU charts in shooting percentage.
Amadi, Mezie Offurum (.680), Xavier Brown (.652) and Terrance Edwards (.621) all have shooting percentages above 60% with at least 20 field goal attempts this season.
Defensively, the Dukes are quick on the ball, averaging 11.4 steals per game which ranks 12th in the country. JMU had 16 and 14 steals in the two wins in Savannah and have double-digit swipes in six of eight contests.
JMU also ranks eighth in turnovers forced per game, with 20.75 opponent miscues per contest.

SCOUTING THE COLONELS

Eastern Kentucky will play its first game in nine days, last winning 122-84 over NAIA opponent Brescia on Nov. 23.
Junior Devontae Blanton leads the Colonels with 17.9 points per game, having scored in double figures in all seven tilts.
EKU is 29th in the country with 41.6 rebounds per game, most recently grabbing 52 boards in the Brescia win.

SERIES HISTORY

JMU leads the series 2-1, with the road team taking all three games.
In last year's matchup in Richmond, Ky., the Dukes clawed back from a 10-point second-half deficit. Down one with 13 seconds left, Charles Falden came up with a steal and then beat the buzzer with a putback off a missed three.
