Daniel Cheng picked up a top-10 finish in his first career conference championship, leading the way for the James Madison men's golf team as the Dukes closed out play at the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Championship, hosted at the par-72, 6,787-yard Cotton Dike Course at Dataw Island Club.

Cheng racked up 15 birdies across his three rounds, posting rounds of 70-72-72 (-2) to tie for seventh among 45 players on the leaderboard. The finish marked Cheng's highest finish of his freshman season and his first collegiate top-10 finish.

Ignacio Montero (72-73-72) and
Neal Shipley (69-74-75) each finished inside the top 15 themselves, with Montero (217, +1) taking sole possession of 12th and Shipley (218, +2) just one shot behind in a tie for 13th.

Nick Schlickenrieder (74-71-74) was just a stroke behind Shipley in a tie for 17th at 219 (+3), while sophomore
Sigurður Blumenstein (72-77-80) closed out the JMU scoring in 35th at 229 (+13).
