Two Former Dukes Make 53-Man Rosters, Seven Affiliated with NFL Rosters

HARRISONBURG, Va. – A pair of former James Madison football standouts earned spots on 53-man rosters for the start of the 2022 season in safety Dean Marlowe with the Atlanta Falcons and offensive lineman Josh Wells with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Marlowe is entering his eighth season in the NFL and the first with the Falcons, while Wells is set for his ninth year as a pro and the fourth with the Bucs.

Additionally, rookie defensive lineman Mike Greene was selected to Tampa Bay's practice squad. Two others in Green Bay Packers wide receiver Ishmael Hyman and Tampa Bay offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie were placed on injured reserve towards the end of the preseason.

On the sidelines this season will be two former Dukes in coaching roles. JMU's 2004 national champion quarterback Justin Rascati is in his second season as assistant offensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings, and former holder and receiver Blaine Stewart is in his second season as assistant wide receivers coach and fourth overall with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
