Owen Kose finished tied for eighth as James Madison men's golf wrapped up the fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule tied for fourth at the Furman Intercollegiate Monday afternoon, hosted at the Furman University Golf Course on its par-71, 7,005-yard layout.

Kose finished with three consistent rounds of 70-71-70, which earned the sophomore the tie for eighth on the 90-player leaderboard. His three-round score of two-under 211 paced the Dukes.

As a team, JMU posted scores of 289-279-291, earning the Dukes a tie for fourth in a 15-team field. Host Furman edged No. 21 Chattanooga for the team title, posting a three-round score of 832 (-20).

Junior
Daniel Cheng (214, +3) finished tied for 20th after he registered rounds of 71-70-73, his third top-25 finish of the fall slate. In 15 rounds of action, Cheng finished with a stroke average of 71.47, which included an individual championship at the VCU Shootout on Sept. 19, where he also finished with a career-low 200 (-16) and career-best eight-under-par 64 in the first round.

Nick Schlickenrieder managed a 38th-place effort with a three-round score of 218 (+7), which included a team-best 67 (-4) in the second round.
Václav TichýÂ (74-74-73) andÂ
Alexandre D'Aurelle de Paladines (74-71-73) rounded out the Dukes' contingent in South Carolina as the duo matched each other with a three-round score of 220 (+9) to tie for 45th.Â
As a team, the Dukes placed inside the top five in all but one tournament this fall and placed inside the top two on three occasions.
