HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison quarterback Jordan McCloud was recognized by both the Manning Award and Davey O'Brien Award for his performance during week 10 of the college football season.
McCloud was named a Manning Award Star of the Week while earning a spot on the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8 List. It's the second time this season he was honored with each weekly award.
The signal caller tied his career-high and the JMU single-game record with six total touchdowns and 411 yards of total offense in JMU's 42-14 win last Saturday at Georgia State.
Playing on his 24th birthday, McCloud completed 28-of-36 passes foe 307 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for a career-high 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. His 77.8 completion percentage was also his best mark since joining the team.
McCloud became the first JMU quarterback to record a 100 rushing yards since Todd Centeio did so on Sept. 3, 2022, in JMU's first FBS game against Middle Tennessee.
Leading 14-7 at halftime, McCloud led JMU's offense on four straight touchdown drives to open the second half to break the game open.
The 21st-ranked Dukes return home to Harrisonburg to host UConn on Saturday, Nov. 11. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
