HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison senior defensive end Jalen Greenadded three more All-America accolades to his ledger Monday, as he was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press and the Action Network while taking home Second team honors from the Football Writers Association of America.
This is the first time a JMU player has been recognized by any of these outlets at the FBS level.
Green has now been named to six All-America Teams, joining his First Team laurels by Walter Camp and College Football Network and Second Team nod from CBS Sports/247 Sports.
The Baltimore native was also voted the Commonwealth's best player, earning the Bill Dudley Award last Saturday night.
Green leads the nation in sacks per game (1.72) and tackles for loss per game (2.3). Named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he broke the conference's single-season sacks record in just nine games.
He tallied 50 total tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one pick-six and a pass breakup.
