ASHLAND, Va. – Six James Madison student-athletes have been honored for academic achievement, being selected to the 2022-23 Virginia Sports Information Directors Academic All-State Team, the organization announced this week.

The Dukes recognized were comprised of men's tennis senior
Holden Koons, lacrosse junior
Katelyn Morgan, women's tennis redshirt senior
Kylie Moulin, field hockey senior
Diede Remijnse, track & field senior
Shelby Staib and cross country and track & field junior
Miranda Stanhope.

All six VaSID Academic All-State honorees were named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Teams during the 2022-23 academic year.

The Academic All-State nod was the third for Moulin, while both Koons and Remijnse were repeat awardees this year.

To be eligible for VaSID Academic All-State, honorees must possess a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher and be at least a sophomore. Institutions may nominate up to six student-athletes across all sport programs each year.

A total of 214 student-athletes were honored this year across 36 schools.
