No. 12 Dukes Fall in Back-and-Forth Match at Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. – In a match that saw two lead changes, No. 12 James Madison men's soccer fell to Coastal Carolina, 3-2, in Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday night at CCU Soccer Stadium.
The Dukes dropped to 4-3-2, 0-2 SBC while the Chanticleers improved to 3-3-2, 1-0-1 SBC.
Graduate Clay Obara led the JMU attack with four shots as the side combined to take 18 shots. Sophomore Sebastian Conlon spent the full 90 minutes in goal and made a season-high six saves. The six saves were two shy of Conlon's career-high.

How It Happened
- Obara presented the first chance by either side in the 14th minute, having his shot saved.
- Coastal took the first lead of the match in the 19th minute.
- In the 23rd minute, a corner kick was awarded to JMU. Obara took the kick and was able to curve the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
- The Dukes took the lead at 2-1 in the 25th minute, as redshirt junior Demitri Turner netted his first career goal on a shot in the box.
- CCU managed to equalize before the halftime break, converting a penalty kick opportunity in the 40th minute due to a foul in the box.
- The Chanticleers scored the game-winner in the 69th minute, as Deryn Armstrong made a quick turnaround move in the middle of the 18-yard box.

- The 18 shots are the second most this season taken by JMU. The Dukes fired off 19 shots against Mount St. Mary's on Sept. 9.
- JMU attempted 10 corner kicks.
