GERMANTOWN, Md. – The defense of James Madison women's soccer created tough shots and limited the chances of No. 13 Georgetown as the two sides settled for a scoreless draw on Thursday evening at the Maryland SoccerPlex in non-conference action.
Â
The Dukes moved to 2-2-3 and snapped a 12-match losing streak against ranked opponents, with their last result coming in a 2-1 win over No. 24 Wake Forest in 2014. The Hoyas moved to 4-0-2.
Â
Redshirt junior Suwaibatu Mohammed and junior Shea Collins led the attack for the Dukes with two shots each. Redshirt junior Alexandra Blom made fives saves in goal to earn her second shutout of the season. She now has 16 career solo shutouts to move into a tie for fourth place in program history, and her 201 career saves make her the seventh goalkeeper in program history to eclipse the 200 saves mark.
