Jamree Kromah Selected to Prestigious East-West Shrine Bowl

FRISCO, Texas – James Madison redshirt senior defensive lineman Jamree Kromah accepted an invitation to compete at the 99th annual East-West Shrine Bowl in Frisco, Texas, on Feb. 1.

The game will be played this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. It will be nationally televised on NFL Network and can be heard live on Bowl Season Radio.

Kromah will be a member of the East team, which is comprised of four total Sun Belt Conference standouts.

This past season, Kromah was named HERO Sports Group of Five First Team All-American was voted First Team All-Sun Belt. He finished the 2023 campaign with 60 tackles to go with 20.5 tackles for loss and 11.0 sacks, both of which ranked second at JMU for stops behind the line of scrimmage. He also registered one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Kromah tallied at least five tackles in six games, including a career-high eight versus Air Force in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. He also tallied at least a full sack in seven games, including a career-best 2.0 at Virginia and at Georgia State.

His TFL total ranked tied for third nationally and his sacks were tied for eighth in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Kromah becomes JMU's first selection to the Shrine Bowl since 2018 when Jimmy Moreland competed both at the Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl before being drafted by Washington in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He is just the fourth player ever to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, joining Moreland, Dean Marlowe (2014) and Earl Watford (2012).
