 DUKES AND PANTHERS IN ATL
The James Madison (26-3, 13-3 SBC) men's basketball team is ready to face Georgia State (13-15, 7-9 SBC) in Atlanta on Wednesday night.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at the GSU Convocation Center.
 PACING THE PANTHERS
Georgia State is coming off a 68-59 loss at home versus Texas State on Saturday.
Dwon Odom led Georgia State with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Jay'Den Turner contributed with 10 rebounds. However, the Panthers struggled offensively, committing a season-high 17 turnovers.
Georgia State's defense held Texas State to a 37.9 percent shooting accuracy from the field. However, the Bobcats capitalized on offensive rebounds, converting them into 14 second-chance points.
The game featured 13 lead changes and six ties, predominantly in the first half.
The Panthers are 8-4 at home, and 7-9 in conference play, which is seventh in Sun Belt standings.
 DUKES STAY HOT
JMU has won eight-straight games, including two on the road last week at Marshall and Georgia Southern. The eight-game win streak is tied for the fourth-longest in Division I.
The Dukes earned their 26th win of the season at Georgia Southern on Saturday, locking-in a top-four seed for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
The Dukes trailed by 19 points, they most they have trailed all season, in the first half. They then orchestrated a remarkable comeback by sinking their first four shots of the second half.
Led by Terrence Edwards Jr.'s 20 points and T.J. Bickerstaff's double-double, JMU outscored Georgia Southern 27-14 in the early second half, ultimately securing an 80-76 victory.
James Madison's victory not only secured the 850th win in the program's history since the 1969-70 season but also held personal significance as it marked Julien Wooden's 83rd career win. This achievement placed Wooden in the company of Dan Ruland and David Dupont for the all-time wins record at JMU. Remarkably, Ruland and Dupont both contributed to 83 victories during their tenure from 1979 to 1983.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Dukes and Panthers have met 17 times in the history of the matchup. The first meeting came nearly 48 years ago (Jan. 1976). The teams met last week (Feb. 15) as the Dukes took a 20-point win at home (83-63).
Georgia State holds the all-time series lead 9-8, with a one-win advantage in Atlanta (4-3). JMU tied the Harrisonburg series last week (5-5). The Dukes could tie the all-time series and the series in Georgia with a win on Wednesday.Â
JMU enters Thursday with a three-game win streak vs. the Panthers.
