The James Madison (27-3, 14-3 SBC) men's basketball team heads to Conway, S.C. to close out the regular-season schedule at Coastal Carolina (8-20, 5-12 SBC).
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday night at HTC Center.
 CHARTING THE CHANTS
Coastal Carolina enters Friday's contest on a three-game skid. Most recently, the Chanticleers dropped a 71-60 decision at home to Arkansas State on Wednesday.
Jacob Meyer led Coastal Carolina with 17 points, while John Ojiako recorded his 17th double-double of the season, with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Arkansas State's inside presence, led by Izaiyah Nelson with 16 points and 12 rebounds, proved decisive, securing the Red Wolves' sixth consecutive win.
Coastal Carolina struggled defensively against Arkansas State's front line, giving up 42 points in the paint and 20 second-chance points.
Their home court has been a much friendlier confine. The Chants have just one win on the road away from HTC Center this season (1-10). They are 7-10 in Conway as they celebrate their seniors in the final home contest of 2023-24.
 STAY HOT, DUKES
James Madison rides a nine-game win streak into Friday's meeting, fresh off a win at Georgia State. This is the nation's third-longest active win streak.
Terrence Edwards Jr. scored a career-high 30 points, and T.J. Bickerstaff contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season.
The win also marked the 84th of Julien Wooden's career at JMU, setting a program record.
This upcoming contest against the Chants concludes the 2023-24 regular-season schedule for the Dukes, which has seen them on the road for the final four games. JMU is 11-2 away from home. In addition to leading the nation in wins (27), those 11 road victories also lead the country.
 WHAT'S AT STAKE
JMU and Coastal Carolina have met three times before, with the Dukes leading the all-time series 4-0.
Head coach Mark Byington boasts a 3-0 record against the Chanticleers during his tenure at JMU.
The inaugural meeting of JMU and CCU took place on Jan. 8, 1987, resulting in a home victory for the Dukes, who maintain a 2-0 record in Harrisonburg.
In their last encounter, exactly one month ago, JMU secured a 105-67 victory at home. Bickerstaff led the team with 19 points in the first half, supported by double-digit contributions from Noah Freidel, Terrence Edwards Jr., and Jaylen Carey. The Dukes had 27 assists and a season-best shooting accuracy of 60.3 percent from the field.
This has already been the most successful regular season for James Madison in program history. The Dukes aim to keep their momentum going heading into the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
