JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Beginning with a 10-run first inning, James Madison baseball put together 22 runs in a run-ruled 22-6 win over ETSU on Saturday morning at Thomas Stadium to win its 10
th straight game.

The Dukes improved to 11-3 and have their first single-season 10-game win streak since an identical streak in 2008. The Buccaneers dropped to 10-4.

Sophomore
Mike Mancini led the Dukes at the plate with a perfect 4-for-4 effort, falling a home run shy of the cycle and adding three runs scored and a career-high six RBI's. Sophomore
Max Kuhle recorded his first career win, going five innings while striking out four and allowing just two runs.

How It Happened
First Inning
JMU sent 13 batters to the plate in the first double-digit run inning for the Dukes since 2022. Mancini led off with a walk before scoring on a single from junior
Fenwick Trimble. Trimble then scored the next at bat on a double from classmate
Ryan Dooley. JMU loaded the bases and pushed three runs across on a fielder's choice, a walk and a wild pitch. With runners on second and third, Mancini reached for the second time in the inning with an RBI single. Trimble and Dooley then went back-to-back with home runs for the 10-0 lead.

Second Inning
Three run-scoring extra base hits pushed four more runs across. Graduate
Brendan O'Donnell and Trimble both hit doubles to score the first and last runs of the inning, with a two-run triple from Mancini sandwiched in between for a 14-0 lead.

ETSU got on the board for the first time on an infield single with runners on the corners.

The Bucs pushed another run across on a single after a one-out walk to make it 14-2.

Fourth Inning
Back-to-back singles from junior
Jason Schiavone and sophomore
Wyatt Peifer pushed the lead to 13 runs. Peifer then advanced to third on a second failed pickoff attempt of the game and scored on a sacrifice fly from Mancini to make it 16-2 JMU.

Fifth Inning
Five runs were scored by the Dukes in the fifth. Dooley led off with a double and scored on Calabrese's infield single. After the Dukes loaded the bases, Schiavone singled in a run and was followed by Peifer's second bases loaded walk of the game to score another. Mancini capped on the scoring with a two-run single for his career-high sixth RBI and to eclipse the 20-run mark at 21-2.

Sophomore
Jack Guerrero recorded his second hit of the day after pinch hitting in the inning prior to score a run to make the score 22-2. The hit marked Guerrero's first multi-hit game of his career.

ETSU scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Four straight singles to start the inning scored two runs before an RBI groundout and another single to cut the deficit to 22-6.

Game Notes
- The 22-run output was the 40th game in program history that the Dukes have scored at least 22 runs.
- JMU has tallied at least 20 runs in a game for the third consecutive season, the first time the Dukes have done so since 2006-13.
- The last 20-run game for the Dukes was a 25-run effort on May 12 last season against Old Dominion with the last 20-run output on the road occurring at Tennessee in a 21-2 win on March 7, 2018.
- Mike Mancini, Fenwick Trimble and Ryan Dooley represented the top three hitters in the starting lineup and went a combined 10-for-13 with a triple, two homers, four doubles, eight runs scored and 13 RBI's.
- Jason Schiavone scored a career-high four runs, one of seven Dukes to score multiple runs.
- JMU recorded 10 two-out RBI's.
