HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison finished a historic 2023-24 men's basketball campaign by receiving 61 votes in the final Associated Press Top 25 while ranking #2 in the last CollegeInsider.com Men's Mid-Major Top 25.

The Dukes were the sixth team outside the AP Top 25 while receiving two first-place votes in the mid-major poll.

JMU finished the season with a 32-4 overall record, setting a single-season record for wins. The Dukes also captured their first conference title in 11 years, winning the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship in Pensacola, Fla.

The Dukes opened the season on a program-record, 14-game win streak while putting together a second 14-game streak that was capped off by their 72-61 victory against No. 5 Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. It was the first time in 41 years that JMU advanced to the NCAA round of 32.

JMU was ranked in the AP Top 25 for eight weeks from while also ranking in six coaches polls. The Dukes ranked as high as #18 in both major polls on Dec. 4.

Three players were named All-Sun Belt, highlighted by
Terrence Edwards Jr., being voted Sun Belt Player of the Year.
T.J. Bickerstaff, a Second Team honoree, was selected as the Newcomer of the Year, while
Noah Freidel was tabbed to the Third Team.
