HOW IT HAPPENED
First Inning

Â
Third Inning
South Carolina got on the board on its own groundout, bringing in a run with the bases loaded to tie the game.
Â
Fifth inning
Two runners reached for the Dukes and advanced into scoring position on a double steal to set up junior Ryan Dooley to single in both runs to regain the lead. Trimble's first double of the day would plate Dooley for a 4-1 lead.
Â
A leadoff homer and a two-run shot was the Gamecocks' response to tie the game at four.
Â
Sixth inning
Graduate Brendan O'Donnell gave the lead back to JMU after knocking in junior Coleman Calabrese three batters into the inning. The Dukes loaded the bases on a pair of walks and a single, bringing Trimble up to hit a two-run double to make it 7-4 JMU.
Â
SC led off its second consecutive inning with a home run to take a run back to make it 7-5.
Â
Ninth Inning
With two down and down to its last two strikes, South Carolina brought the tying run to the plate after a hit by pitch. Cole Messina would homer on the first pitch to tie the game at seven.
Â
10th Inning
The Gamecocks drew a walk to lead off their half of the 10th, with a throwing error then putting two runners in scoring position. Will Tippett hit a sacrifice fly for the winning run and an 8-7 final score.
