RALEIGH, N.C. — James Madison baseball redshirt senior
Hunter Entsminger tossed 5.2 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and no walks to help keep the Dukes alive in the Raleigh Regional, as they eliminated Bryant, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at Dail Park.Â

The Dukes improved to 35-24 on the season, while the Bulldogs end their season at 36-21.Â

Brendan O'Donnell both went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI to lead JMU at the plate. Entsminger improved to 5-0, scattering four hits while setting career-highs in innings pitched and strikeouts.Â

First Inning
JMU struck two batters in, as junior
Fenwick Trimble doubled in classmate
Ryan Dooley. The double marked Trimble's 20th of the season, becoming the second Duke to ever post back-to-back 20-double seasons and the third to ever have multiple 20-double seasons. Trimble then scored on a single from Schiavone, making it 2-0 in favor of the Dukes.Â

Sophomore
Mike Mancini crossed the plate to make it 3-0 JMU as Schiavone drew a throw down to second base as the runners were on the corners.Â

Seventh Inning
After a hit by pitch and a walk put two on, O'Donnell attempted to go to third base but came home to score on an errant throw from the pitcher. The run made it 4-0 JMU.Â

Eighth Inning
Bryant got on the board off an unearned run, making it 4-1 with help from an error.Â

In the bottom of the inning, JMU loaded the bases with three walks to set up junior
Coleman Calabrese to single in two and make it 6-1. Back-to-back opposite field singles from O'Donnell and redshirt senior
Mason Dunaway scored runs to make the score 8-1.Â

Game Notes
- Fenwick Trimble moved into a tied for eighth in career doubles at JMU with 54.
- Trimble's 20-double season in the 14th recorded in program history. He was the ninth Duke to accomplish the feat, doing so last season with 23.
- With Trimble's RBI double in the first, he moved into a tie for 10th most in a season at 65. His subsequent run after getting on made him the fourth Duke in program history to record 70 runs scored, as he's now tied for third most in a season.
- Mike Mancini's 17-game hit streak came to an end.
- With runners on, the Dukes hit .429 (6-for-14) and improved to .556 (5-for-9) when there were runners in scoring position.

The Dukes will play the loser of South Carolina and 11
th-ranked NC State on Sunday, June 2 at noon at Dail Park in an elimination game. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Gamecocks and Wolfpack later in the day at 6 p.m.
