JMU HOSTS GEORGIA SOUTHERN IN SATURDAY MATINEE
- James Madison will cap off the weekend when it hosts Georgia Southern on Saturday, Jan. 11. Action inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center is set for 2 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
- Last time out, Ashanti Barnes poured in a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds for her third Division I double-double to lead James Madison women's basketball to a 71-59 home win over Marshall on Thursday night.
- Barnes finished 8-of-13 (.615) from the field and shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line to go along with four assists. Peyton McDaniel connected on 3-of-5 (.600) from behind the arc for 15 points and came away with three steals. Bree Robinson scored a career-high 12 points and notched a trio of takeaways, while Jamia Hazell added eight points. Kseniia Kozlova tied for the team-high in rebounds with 10.
- The Dukes own three top-40 marks nationally: defensive rebounds per game (24th - 29.1), rebounds per game (35th - 41.69) and three-point percentage defense (33rd - 26.1).
- Individually, McDaniel is fourth in the Sun Belt in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and fifth in scoring (14.4 ppg).
- Georgia Southern picked up its first Sun Belt win of the season with a dominant 82-57 victory over Georgia State on Wednesday evening at the GSU Convocation Center in Atlanta.
- The 25-point win was the largest road win for Georgia Southern in the series against the Panthers.
- The Eagles own a pair of top-50 marks nationally: offensive rebounds per game (T-27th - 15.1) and rebounds per game (43rd - 40.94).
LAST TIME VS. THE EAGLES
- James Madison knocked down 22-of-25 (.880) from the free throw line to edge Georgia Southern 71-65 inside Hanner Fieldhouse on Feb. 22, 2024.
- JMU won the rebounding battle, 46-38. The Eagles lost despite holding the Dukes to 33.3 percent (22-of-66) from the floor.
- Peyton McDaniel tied for the game-lead in points with 16 to go along with eight rebounds. Ashanti Barnes finished with 12 points and eight boards, while Jamia Hazell recorded nine points off the bench.

- James Madison holds an 84-68 (.553) record against current Sun Belt Conference foes and is 35-11 (.761) since joining the conference in 2022.
- The Dukes have encountered Old Dominion more than any other SBC opponent, trailing 53-30 in the all-time series. Additionally, ODU is the only team in the league with a winning record against JMU.
- JMU has never lost to Louisiana (5-0), Southern Miss (3-0), Texas State (3-0), Arkansas State (2-0), South Alabama (2-0), or ULM (1-0).

- All parking pass holders — both Spot-Specific and Reserved — will enter through the North Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. For those entering through the North Entrance, all parking is reserved and first-come-first-serve. There will be no spot-specific parking available for doubleheaders.
General Parking
- Accessible via the South Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck as well as the adjacent surface lots (C12, D3, and R4), general parking is available beginning two hours before game time. General parking is free of charge, available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
