Bousum Tabbed as Sun Belt Swimmer of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison senior Grace Bousum was tabbed as the Sun Belt Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league announced Thursday morning.

Bousum helped lift the Dukes past Richmond in a dual meet, 174-124, on Saturday. The Dukes won 11 of the 16 events.

The Chester Springs, Pa. native won a pair of individual events and also came away with a relay win. Swimming times of 52.50 and 1:53.92, Bousum respectively won the 100 Free and 200 Free. She also claimed second in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.22. In the 200 Free Relay, Bousum led off with a split time of 24.25, as her team placed first with an overall time of 1:34.53.

The overall relay time was the fastest for the event this season for JMU, with Bousum's 200 Free time her fastest dual meet time this season out of three races.
