NEW ORLEANS – James Madison's 2025 opponent slate is complete, as the Sun Belt Conference announced its cross-divisional opponents list for the upcoming college football season on Thursday.
Â
Once again, the Dukes will host six games at Bridgeforth Stadium while traveling for six others, with eight matchups and four non-conference bouts.
Â
Each season, a team faces all six opponents in its division with three home and three away matchups. The conference slate is completed by facing two opposite division teams, with one home and one away contest.
Â
Dates for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference schedule will be announced no later than March 1, 2025, as stated by the conference office.
Â
JMU's home conference slate features games against App State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana and Old Dominion. The Dukes will take conference road trips to Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Marshall and Texas State.
It will be the inaugural meeting for JMU and Louisiana, as the Dukes will have faced all 13 opposing Sun Belt squads following that matchup next fall.
Â
The Sun Belt Conference approved the cross-divisional opponents format that will take seven years to complete. A full rotation is defined as one home contest and one away contest against each cross-divisional opponent.
Â
JMU's 12-game schedule is completed with home games against Weber State on Aug. 30 and Washington State on Nov. 22, as well as road contests at Louisville on Sep. 6 and Liberty on Sept. 20.
Â
Game times and network designations for the first three weeks of the regular season will be announced by ESPN and the Sun Belt later in the spring.
