NEW ORLEANS – James Madison women's soccer midfielder
Aleigha Arndt has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Sunday morning.
The award marks the first weekly honor of the redshirt sophomore's career, and the fifth for James Madison this season. Arndt becomes the second JMU player to bring home offensive laurels in 2025.
Arndt brings home the recognition on the heels of a week in which she contributed a game-winning goal and an assist in the Dukes' 4-2 victory against Texas State in San Marcos. The performance was Arndt's third three-point performance of the season, and her second during conference play.
The Moseley, Virginia native has tallied three goals and four assists, becoming one of four players to amass at least 10 points this season. Arndt played a pivotal role on the offense during the second half of the season, starting in all but two of JMU's Sun Belt matches.
The Dukes will be back in action on Monday, Nov. 3, when they take on No. 4 Texas State in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Championship in Foley, Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
