KANSAS CITY, Mo. – James Madison women's soccer sophomore Ginny Lackey has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The recognition marks the forward's second all-region selection in as many seasons as a Duke. Lackey also earned first-team laurels in 2024, becoming the first JMU player to be honored in consecutive seasons since 2009-10, and the third all-time. The Dukes finished the season 9-4-6 and advanced to the Sun Belt Conference Quarterfinals.
Starting all 19 of JMU's matches, Lackey paced the Dukes' attack with 11 goals and six assists for 28 points on the year, earning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year honors and a spot on the All-SBC First Team. The Bolton, Manchester, England, native became the first SBC player to record back-to-back 25+ point seasons since 2014-15, and the first JMU player to do so since 2015-16. Lackey earned Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week recognition after netting three goals against Louisiana, the first hat trick by a JMU player since 2012.
