TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 9 Florida State homered four times, as James Madison baseball fell, 9-2, on Saturday afternoon in the middle game of the weekend series at Dick Howser Stadium.

The Dukes dropped to 0-2 on the season, while the Seminoles improved to 2-0.

A quartet of Dukes recorded a hit, led by senior
Ryan Dooley who went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Junior
Jaden Kinsler got the start on the mound, tossing three innings with four strikeouts.

How It Happened
First Inning
Florida State wasted little time taking the lead, as leadoff hitter Gage Harrelson sent the fourth pitch he saw over the right-center wall for a 1-0 lead.

Third Inning
FSU tripled its lead on a two-run homer in the third off the bat of Max Williams to make it 3-0.

Fourth Inning
The second two-run home run in as many innings for the Seminoles made the score 5-0, as Drew Faurot hit his second homer of the young season. A third run was scored on a groundout to make it 6-0.

Fifth Inning
JMU scored its first run of the season, as junior
Jack Cannizzaro doubled with two outs before scoring from second on a fielding error in the infield to make it 6-1.

The Seminoles regained their six-run lead in the home half of the inning, using a double down the left field line to plate one for a 7-1 lead.

Sixth Inning
FSU's Alex Lodise hit the third two-run homer of the day for the hosts to push the lead to eight runs at 9-1.

After the Dukes loaded the bases, graduate
Corey Dowdell came in to pinch hit and drew a walk to bring home a run and make the score 9-2.

- In his collegiate debut, redshirt freshman Holden McKinney struck out the side in the eighth inning.
- Ryan Dooley recorded the first multi-hit game of the season for JMU.
- The pitching staff of JMU registered back-to-back games of 10 strikeouts for the first time since April 30-May 3 last season. The last time it occurred on the road was April 13-14 at Old Dominion a season ago.
