HARRISONBURG, Va. – The James Madison men's basketball program signed transfer Ike Cornish to an aid agreement, Head Coach
Preston Spradlin announced on Thursday morning.
Â
Cornish joins the Dukes after spending the 2024-25 season at Nicholls, where he played in only nine games before suffering an injury and redshirting. The guard will have two years of eligibility after playing in 21 games for Maryland (2022-23) as a redshirt freshman and 32 games for Ohio (2023-24) as a redshirt sophomore.
Â
"Ike (Cornish) brings great size and shooting to our team," Spradlin said. "A veteran who has been a part of winning at three different stops, he will bring that experience to our program. His personality will be a terrific fit within our culture."
Â
With the addition of Cornish, the Dukes have now added eight transfer players to the program. Paul Jones III (Winthrop), Eli Wilborn (Duquesne), Paul Lewis (Vanderbilt), Gabe Newhof (Spring Arbor), Cliff Davis (UTRGV), Bradley Douglas (Georgia Southern), Justin McBride (Nevada), and Cornish (Nicholls).
Â
They will join incoming freshmen Preston Fowler and Christian Brown on JMU's 2025-26 roster, where
Justin Taylor and
Eddie Ricks III stand as the lone returning scholarship players.
