WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – The James Madison men's golf team finished fourth at the JT Poston Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.

Leading the way for JMU was senior
Václav Tichý, who shot a five-under 65 in Tuesday's final round and tied for ninth with a three-round score of 207 (-3) on the par-70, 6,720-yard Waynesville Inn and Golf Club.

Overall, the Dukes finished fourth out of 15 teams at the tournament. JMU carded rounds of 285-275-275 to finish with a 54-hole total of 835 (-5).

Alex Seibal continued his solid start to the 2025-26 season with a tie for 14th on the 90-player leaderboard. The senior fired an even-par 70 and a three-under 67 in his opening two rounds before closing with a 72. Â

Newcomers
Michael Hake and
Ethan Anderson tied for 22nd with three-round tallies of 211 (+1). After an opening-round 75, Hake carded a 69 (-1) and closed with a three-under 67 to match his career-low round. Anderson, competing in his first tournament at JMU, tallied a 68 (-2) in his second round, which was sandwiched between an even-par 72 and one-over 71.

Junior
Jonas DeLeon also made his JMU debut, tying for 39th with a 54-hole aggregate of 215 (+5) as an individual outside the Dukes' lineup. Senior
Owen Kose also competed as an individual, tying for 48th at 217 (+7).

Sophomore
René Bergendi rounded out the JMU contingent with a t-57 finish and three-round score of 218 (+8). Bergendi carded rounds of 72-72-74.
