JMU Ranked No. 18 in Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After winning five of its last six games, including defeating No. 8 Michigan last Sunday, James Madison field hockey was ranked No. 18 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

The Dukes (6-3, 1-0 MAC) are ranked for the first time since the final poll of the 2022 season, when they finished at No. 23. Additionally, JMU came in No. 13 in the first Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) of the 2025 season. JMU joins No. 11 Massachusetts (8-0, 1-0 MAC) as the only ranked teams representing the Mid-American Conference in the national poll. Previously, Miami (Ohio) (5-2, 1-0 MAC) rounded out the top 20 in the second weekly poll of the season.
Sunday's win over the Wolverines snapped their five-game winning streak and was Michigan's first home loss of the 2025 season. For the Dukes, the victory was their first over a top-10 opponent since the ninth-ranked Dukes topped No. 8 Virginia in a 1-0 double overtime victory on Sept. 10, 2008.Â
James Madison is paced offensively by Alice Roeper (6g, 4a), Madelief Molier (7g, 0a) and Skyler Brown (4g, 1a), with the trio accounting for 17 of the Dukes' 25 goals through nine games. Nationally, goalkeeper Molly Schreiner is 19th in save percentage (.754), while Molier is 23rd in goals per game (0.88).

The Dukes are back in Harrisonburg to host Longwood on Friday at the JMU Field Hockey Complex. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
