HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison men's soccer has added Saad Mohacht to the coaching staff as an assistant coach, Head Coach
Paul Zazenski announced Friday morning.
"We are excited to welcome Saad to our men's soccer staff this spring," Zazenski said. "He brings a unique strength in international recruiting, supported by his ability to communicate in five languages and connect with people from all backgrounds. Most recently, Saad served as the lead assistant at Division II Fort Hays State, helping guide the program to a 2025 Final Four appearance. His professionalism, passion and global network will be a significant asset to our recruiting efforts and to our program both on and off the field."
Mohacht comes to the Valley after spending the past two seasons at Division II Fort Hays State University. During his tenure in Hays, he helped the team go 33-5-7 and earn a pair of GAC/MIAA tournament titles. The Tigers also went 7-4-2 in that span against ranked opponents. This past season, Mohacht was part of the United Soccer Coaches Central Region Staff of the Year, as FHSU went 20-1-3 and made a run to the national semifinals with a #3 ranking in the final poll of the year. Five Tigers were named All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches, including the national player of the year in Elias Ovelar Semeniuk.
"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to become part of the JMU men's soccer program," said Mohacht. "It's a privilege to join Coach Zazenski's staff and to contribute to the development of our student-athletes, both on and off the field. I'm thankful to my family and to the mentors who have guided and supported me along the way. I'm excited for the journey ahead and honored to represent James Madison University. Go Dukes!"
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Mohacht spent time in 2023 competing professionally within Morocco's second division, playing for Youssoufia Barrechid.
His professional and coaching experiences follow a four-year collegiate career that saw him catalog 54 matches with nine goals and 17 assists during stops at Monroe College, Wofford College and Corban University. In his career, he was named a first team all-region and first team all-conference honoree. Mohacht received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Corban in 2023, before receiving an MBA in international business from Fort Hays State in 2025.
