- James Madison men's basketball shot 52.6 percent from the floor and made 14 threes in an 82-57 rout of Texas State on Saturday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
- JMU (10-11, 3-6 Sun Belt) raced out to a 47-28 halftime lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 28 in the second half to come away with the win over Texas State (11-11, 4-6 SBC).
- Justin McBride and Cliff Davis led the Dukes with 18 points apiece, as the duo combined to go 9-of-12 (.750) from behind the arc.

- 4: James Madison defeated Texas State 82-57 on Saturday, its largest win of the 2025-26 season and biggest against a Sun Belt opponent since beating Marshall by 26 (84-58) on Feb. 21, 2024. The Dukes led by as many as 28 points, also their largest lead at any point this season.
- 30: Justin McBride finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds against South Alabama on Thursday for his second 30-point game of the season. McBride joins Denzel Bowles (3), Stuckey Mosley (3), and Mark Freeman (3) as JMU players since 2010-11 with multiple 30-point games in the same season.
- 37: JMU freshman Christian Brown was credited with two blocks in Saturday's game vs. Texas State, bringing his 2025-26 season total to 37. In program history, Brown's 37 blocks is tied for second among freshman, tied with Trevon Flores (37, 2009-10) and Andre Nation (47, 2012-13)

- James Madison and Troy last met in the semifinals of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference tournament on March 9, 2025, in Pensacola, Fla.
- The Trojans raced out to an 11-0 lead in the opening four minutes and never looked back, leading wire-to-wire and by as many as 23 in the second half to down the Dukes 79-60 and advance to the Sun Belt Championship, where they would go on to defeat Arkansas State.
- JMU found itself in a 19-point hole in the second half and cut the deficit to just seven off the back of Mark Freeman, who scored 25 of his career-high 34 points in the second half. However, Troy answered with an 11-1 run and never led by fewer than 12 points down the stretch.

- In his past four games, Davis is 21-of-50 (.420) from three, making at least four in each game. He made a season-high six threes at Marshall (1/17) and vs. Texas State (1/24).
- Davis has scored in double figures in four straight games and 14 overall games this season. Those 14 games include two 20-point games, scoring 24 against Arkansas State (1/3) and 20 at Marshall (1/17).
