DUKES RETURN HOME TO HOST THUNDERING HERD
- James Madison returns to the Atlantic Union Bank Center to host the Marshall Thundering Herd on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m.
- JMU and Marshall are meeting for the first of two times this season. The two teams split their home-and-home last season, with the home team taking both contests.
- Since joining the Sun Belt in the 2022-23 season, JMU is 5-2 against the Thundering Herd and 2-1 in Harrisonburg. In the overall series, the Dukes hold a 4-2 lead in games played at home.

DUKES TAKE DOWN ARKANSAS STATE TO RING IN 2026
- JMU picked up a Sun Belt road win on Saturday, taking down the Arkansas State Red Wolves 78-74. The win marked the Dukes' second road win of the season, while handing A-State its first home loss in six games.
- Cliff Davis scored 24 points to lead the JMU scoring, with Justin McBride adding 21 for his sixth 20-point game of the season. The Dukes overcame a 10-point first-half deficit for their first win when trailing by 10+ points this season.
- JMU used a 14-0 run in the second half to turn a 50-42 deficit into a 56-50 lead in the second half. The 14-0 run matched ts longest run without the opponent scoring this season. The Dukes also went on a 14-0 run at Akron on Nov. 3.
MCBRIDE BREAKING OUT AS A JUNIOR
- Through the first two months of the season, JMU junior forward Justin McBride leads the Dukes and is third in the Sun Belt with an average of 17.2 points per game.
- Against Arkansas State on Jan. 3, McBride finished with 21 points - his sixth 20-point game this season. He also had 33 points against Norfolk State on Dec. 6, the most for a JMU player inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center since the building opened in 2020.
- McBride has been wildly efficient, shooting 52.9 percent from the floor (90-170) and 46.2 percent from behind the arc (26-56). He is also averaging 5.7 rebounds per game, corralling at least five rebounds in eight straight.
- McBride is one of six players in the country averaging 17 points and five rebounds per game while shooting greater than 50 percent from the floor and 45 percent from three.
- McBride was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Dec. 2, following a pair of 20-point games against FIU and Omaha. He is the first JMU player since Bryce Lindsay in November 2024 to take home the award.
- His 20-point games include 21 against Towson (11/18), 26 against FIU (11/24), 24 against Omaha (11/25), and 21 against Arkansas State, along with his 33 points against Norfolk State.
LOCKING DOWN THE BANK
- The Atlantic Union Bank Center has been the home of James Madison men's and women's basketball since the 2020-21 season.
- During that span, JMU has gone 62-16 (.795) overall and is 5-0 in home games this season. Under Head Coach Preston Spradlin, the Dukes are 18-2 inside the AUBC.
- Against conference opponents (CAA and SBC), JMU is 22-5 (.794). Against Sun Belt foes, the Dukes are 22-5 (.814) and have just one loss the past two seasons in conference play at home.
- Against non-conference opponents, the Dukes are 32-3 (.914) and finished non-conference play this season with a 5-0 record.
