JMU WELCOMES TOLEDO FOR MAC-SBC CHALLENGE

James Madison men's basketball continues its four-game homestand against the Toledo Rockets on Feb. 7, at 4 p.m. inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
JMU sits at 11-13 overall, last falling 64-61 to Louisiana on Wednesday, Feb. 4. Toledo fell 75-72 to Kent State on Feb. 3 and is 12-11 this season.

LAST TIME OUT

James Madison men's basketball fell, 64-61, to the Louisiana Rajin' Cajuns on Wednesday night at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
Dorian Finister hit a three with 1.3 seconds left to give Louisiana (8-16, 6-6 Sun Belt) the win over JMU (11-13, 4-8 SBC). The Cajuns led by as many as 11 in the second half and withstood a JMU rally, which saw the Dukes take a 59-58 lead with 1:13 left.
Cliff Davis led JMU with 12 points, while Kose Egbule had season-highs in points (10), rebounds (5), and assists (4). Christian Brown had eight points and five rebounds, while Eli Wilborn led the team with eight boards off the bench.

NUMBERS TO KNOW

4: JMU guard Kose Egbule played a season-high 30 minutes against Louisiana and set season-highs in four categories: points (10), rebounds (5), assists (4), and blocks (2). Egbule finished 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from behind the arc.
39: JMU freshman Christian Brown finished with a block during Wednesday's game against Louisiana, bringing his 2025-26 season total to 39. He is now second on the JMU all-time freshman list for blocks, trailing only Andre Nation (47, 2012-13).
64: JMU is is 64-19 (.771) in home games overall and 24-8 (.774) against Sun Belt Conference opponents since the Atlantic Union Bank Center opened ahead of the 2020-21 season. The Dukes are 7-3 at home this season and 20-5 at home under Preston Spradlin the past two seasons.

LAST TIME VS. TOLEDO

James Madison and Toledo have met one other time. The Rockets defeated the Dukes, 72-69, on Feb. 8, 2025 in Toledo, Ohio.
JMU raced out to an early 32-16 lead but could not hold on, as Toledo finished the game on a 9-3 run.
Mark Freeman led the Dukes with 23 points and a career-high five three-pointers. JMU, despite shooting 50.9 percent (27-of-53) from the floor and making 13 three-pointers, surrendered 14 offensive rebounds while the Rockets finished with a season-low three turnovers. Overall, Toledo outrebounded the Dukes 38-27.
Along with Freeman's 23 points, Bryce Lindsay recorded 12 points and a career-high six assists. Xavier Brown tallied 11 points, and AJ Smith led the Dukes with seven rebounds.

DAVIS TURNING IT UP IN SBC PLAY

JMU guard Cliff Davis is third on JMU in scoring this season, averaging 13.4 points per game. In conference play, that number has jumped to 15.2.
In conference play, Davis has shot 39.6 percent from three and has seven straight games with at least 10 points.
As of Thurs., Feb. 5, Davis leads the Sun Belt in made threes (74) and threes per game (3.1) while ranking second in three-point percentage (.376).
Including his seven straight games in double figures, Davis has 17 games with 10+ points this season. After his 23 points vs. Troy, he now has three 20-point games - also scoring 24 against Arkansas State (1/3) and 20 at Marshall (1/17).
