NEW ORLEANS – The James Madison pair of Brooklyn Hoffmann and Sophie Williams were voted Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for the fifth time following a trio of wins.
Â
The five weekly honors are a program single-season record, as they were also recognized on Feb. 4, Feb. 18, March 4 and March 11.
Â
Last week, the two turned in a 3-0 doubles record on court one, picking up the fastest three finishes, aiding in JMU capturing the doubles point in every match.
Â
It was highlighted by their 6-4 triumph on April 7 against Old Dominion's top pair of Kira Matushkina and Victoria Matasova. Hoffmann and Williams followed that up with a 6-3 win against East Carolina's Kim Auerswald and Reese Calvo and a dominant 6-1 victory over George Mason's Cenan Liu and Mary Young.
Â
This spring, Hoffmann and Williams have put together a 13-5 doubles dual record and are currently riding a six-match win streak.
Â
The Dukes close the regular season on Friday, April 17 when they travel to Boone, N.C., to face App State. The match is set for a 10 a.m. start from the App State Tennis Courts.
