NEW ORLEANSÂ - For the second time this season, James Madison'sÂ
Payton List was named the Sun Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
List played a pivotal role in JMU's 4-0 week, helping lead the Dukes to a sweep of Georgia State and a ranked road win over No. 23 Virginia.
At the plate, List hit .500 on the week with three home runs, nine RBI, and six runs scored, highlighted by a career-high-tying three-hit performance and two-homer outing in JMU's comeback win over No. 23 Virginia.
Against Georgia State, she posted three hits, five RBI, and a .750 slugging percentage across the weekend while also earning the win in the circle in the series finale after tossing 5.0 innings with six strikeouts.
The Dukes will hit the road one final time in the regular season to wrap up Sun Belt play against Marshall in Huntington, W.Va., on Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. Each game will stream on ESPN+.
